What Linda Does for Clients
Linda demonstrates a client-focused philosophy and gets to know her clients as individuals with unique situations, values and needs. She works collaboratively with other professionals such as care managers, financial advisors, CPAs, medical professionals and attorneys to develop a customized team to work on her clients’ behalf.
Many clients are elderly and do not have support systems. Linda Banta makes sure they are safe, take their medications, and get to medical appointments. It is very easy for the elderly to become isolated, so some solutions are as simple as being a good listener and finding outlets for social interaction.

Secure, Protect and Manage Assets
Often a client’s assets are at risk from neglect or from financial abuse. Linda determines what the assets are, where they are, and takes actions to secure, protect and if necessary, retrieve them. She researches and reports on their finances, organizes accounts, and develops processes for paying bills and managing investments.
Client Safety is Paramount
Linda Banta makes sure that when a client is living at home, an assessment is done to determine if changes need to be made to the home so that the client can remain there safely. Many solutions can be as simple as installing bars in shower stalls to make getting in and out of the tub safely. Avoiding falls and broken bones is important for the elderly, as it takes a very long time for bones to heal and significantly impacts quality of life.
Improve the Quality of Life
Social interaction provides important connections in the lives of the elderly. She works with her clients to identify activities—card games, bingo, concerts—that are stimulating and provide the opportunity to make new friends.
Act as a Client Advocate
One of her clients was tormented by telemarketers. In a matter of a few calls, Linda had her on the DNS list and talked to a lawyer about action items if this did not provide relief. In many situations, solutions are simple, but represent a significant improvement in the lives of elderly people.
Oversee Medical Care
Linda helps her clients unravel the mysteries of Medicare, ensure that prescriptions are filled and that they are taking them. She meets with their doctors to make sure she understands health problems, so she is able to monitor their conditions.
Provide a Social Support System
It is not unusual for old people to become anonymous. Their families may be too busy or too far away to see them on a regular basis. A client with macular degeneration was unable to read the books and newspapers she loved. Linda arranged for a student to come in every day to read to her and keep her updated on current affairs.
